Blizzard Fights Starcraft II Piracy With Battle.net
Micheal Ryder, Blizzard’s executive has been bringing up the Brand’s online network, Battle.net. declaring it is helping them fight off the piracy. Ryder told MCV that for World of Warcraft they have been able to work well with the piracy problems and they will apply the same policy for Starcraft 2.
The Battle.net provides various things. It gives a better continuity for the gamers and it offers them a good way to participate in Blizzard’s community activities but what also comes together with the Battle.net solution is that Blizzard works really hard to offer a fine regional business model so it eliminates some of the piracy issues.
Ryder declared that since 2007 when Activision merged with Blizzard, its integrity and originality hasn’t changed at all. They work pretty much the same way as always. Since they are working with Activision (ActiBlizz), the same decisions are taken in the same way, the relationship with Activision hasn’t changed at all.
