Who Is Responsible for WOW Account Hacking?
There are lots of posts online talking about the phenomenons that world of warcraft account being hacked. To invest the reasons which made the account hacked, different players have different ideas, i summarize the opinions of players in this passage, who is responsible for wow account hacking?

Every time I bring up World of Warcraft accounts getting hacked, as I did yet again this past weekend, the comments that follow seem to fall into three distinct categories.  This pattern seems pretty consistent.

It is plauers' Fault.

Most of the people hold this opinion, a comment from one reader can best express the majority's idea: "Blizzard didn/t get hacked, you did."

This point of view insists that you are responsible for the security of your account, since Blizzard gave you the right to use this account, you should be responsible for it. Blizzard won't do anything harmful to the accounts, so if you got hacked, you must did something to cause it to happen.

One reason that you being hacked is that you received phishing emails from scammers and you followed what the email told you to do. So eventually you account was hacked. Some players are more blunt, and insist, without any actual knowledge of what occurred, that you were phished, that you fell for one of those emails, and that there is really no possible alternative explanation.

Certainly, the easiest way for somebody to obtain your account name and password is for you to give it to them. And there is another reason that if you do not have a Blizzard Authenticator then you might as well given a hacker your account information.

It is Blizzard's fault

Though sounds unreasonable, there are still a couple of players hold that it is Blizzard who made the fault. Since the players became the victims Blizzard should try to do something to repair the lost for players.

The person who had their account hacked must lost valuable virtual items which they left in Blizzard's care. They didn't leave the car door unlocked only to find something stolen.  They used the default option for account security, in fact the only readily available option for account security, a password.

Since there are hackers to stole the account information, then it means the WoW account needs more security, so Blizzard should provide more secure ways to it.  We've been hearing about WoW accounts being hacked by the tens of thousands for a few years now, and in that time only two security related initiatives have come about by Blizzard. One is to force players to log in with their email address which finally proved to be a wrong way. Second is the use of Authenticator.

The first was forcing people to use their email address as their log in ID, which was really a move in the wrong direction, since most people will use their main email address, something easy to find. This arguably made the situation worse.

It is players' ignorant made the fault.

Though like to play world of warcraft, there are always people who know nothing or next to nothing about getting their accounts hacked, the people who have never gotten a phishing email, the people who have never heard of the Blizzard Authenticator, then it is because of their ignorant made the fault, and this group of people is by far the largest group to be kacked. To protect your account, you should try to become the people who care about the game, who take an interest in the game not just logging on and playing.
